Full taper's notice:
"HOLY

FUCKING

SHIT!!!!

The Saenger Theater was brought to its collective knees last night with a brutal, pummeling performance that was full of throb and texture by both openers Wolf Alice (also taped) and the deserved-headliners Queens Of The Stone Age.

I blew off Lukas and Sturgill at the poorly organized Jazz Fest (what kind of FAQ list doesn't have "where do you park for your event"???) to save energy for this, and it was clearly the right decision, as the Queens delivered a knockout punch of a full 2-hour set.

Fancy-schmancy mics like Schoeps and Naks could not handle such brutality, but the Sonics once again rose to the occasion and grabbed Josh by his devil horns, capturing, to these ears, a most excellent, diverse performance.

Lead-heathen Homme has 'tude to burn, and his between-song banter shows this in spades (beaten-up photographers numbered zero, however).

Throw in the double (triple?)-shot treat of Bobby Rush on harp for TWO songs AND Jake Spears throwing some guest vox in the ring for another, and you have the makings of yet *another epic show* captured by yours truly.

I'ma just gonna shut the fuck up now and let you listen.

If you don't listen, you're stupid.

Just like the future is.

Be sure to thank Dennis for yet AGAIN stepping "out of his wheelhouse to play Judas Priest and deliver the goods"

And as for the Fuck You train...(that's me!).

This was show number "2 of nearly 20" in the next two weeks (yes, some festivals are in the works). And trust me when I say that THIS trip is all OVER the map.

Pretty sure that nearly every artist I've never taped before. (OK, I have seen NMAS, Cake, Clutch, Alice In Chains and Steve Earle sans The Dukes before, but as for the rest, I don't think so...)

The only clue for the next show...it's in another state.

Then the night after, some Dylan delivered by a silky-voiced chanteuse...(at least when compared to Mumblemouth Bobby).

THEN we're gonna turn up the volume a lil' bit.

You kids up for it?

I sure am!!!

Stay toooooooooooned!!!!!!!!
